Subway Scam Ads Hit New York City

Today, we ran a full-page advertisement in the New York Post, criticizing Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) for inserting a $1.5 million line item into his FY 2019 budget that would create a “School of Urban and Labor Studies” at the City University of New York. The ad is critical of Governor Cuomo for prioritizing union demands over much-needed subway fixes, claiming that taxpayer money would be better spent on rat traps at subway stations. We also ran a full-page ad in the New York PostNew York Daily News, and amNY to mark the launch of the “Subway Scam” campaign in late March. The ad blames Gary LaBarbera, president of the Building and Construction Trades Council of Greater New York (BCTC), for the subway system’s many pitfalls.
